As mentioned, profile rigs are more rigid and it does matter. The tubular style rigs lack adjustability in some areas depending on brand. Usually you get flex in the pedal plates and wheel base mounting. They can also be noisey/creek/rattle. Profile rigs you can expand on and literally do anything you want, its like an adult metal lego. Zero flex at all when buying the right components. I originally went with a Tubular style Trak Racer rig, it was decent for a starter setup. But for a little more money I could have just went profile and saved the hassle. I have a SimLab P1X now and it really does not get any better than that.
