Nokian Hakkapeliitta is the best snow tire money can buy, IMO. Michelin X-Ice are not even close.

We moved to SoCal from upstate NY 7 years ago, fortunate enough to just run Michelin PS4S year round now. Used to have nasty winters, and those Hakkapeliitta's made my E90 manual RWD as useful as my wife's Subaru in the snow. Amazing tire.
