Track cars - you can minimize understeer and get more track laps per set of tires using what they call a "square" tire setup. This is simply using identical wheels and tires at all four corners. If this causes offset issues, typically that is solved with spacers at either front or rear to achieve proper offset. With the square setup, you can rotate all four tires around the car, distributing the beating that the left front tire endures to all four wheels.
Another trick is having the tires dismounted from the rims and flipping them so the former inside of the tire is now the outside. Some tire designs will allow this, some won't. Tread design and internal belt design are both considerations before flipping tires.
But by using both tricks, the square tire setup and the flipping, you can greatly extend the useful life of your track tires.
