Servicing the xDrive transfer case is supposedly not difficult, but there are two things to be aware of:
- Use BMW transfer case fluid ONLY. The fluid is pricey, but no non-OEM fluids are acceptable in the transfer case.
- The clutchpack control system needs to be reset every time you change the fluid. I don't know if aftermarket coding tools have this option.
