One of the issues is that the E9x simply drives very well compared to any 2016 vehicle. Almost all of them have electric power steering. Short of a Porsche, eps imho falls very short of the steering that the E9x has. Since E9x's are relatively older now, I would say keep it, and get a new car, but make sure you actually look at the space. A Honda CR-V which again I would never ever consider, has more room than a X5. So if it's room that you truly need, BMW would fall pretty short.
