I coded it on my car and it works well. The default US values is set to a very low threshold compared to the European values. Not sure what the threshold values really mean, but I think the value is set to 5 and it works fine for me. I've tested it out on an open road trying to determine how much brake force I need to apply to trigger it, and it only activates during medium/hard braking - meaning I'm depressing the pedal pretty deep.
I think the European standard is for this to activate only during what would indicate an emergency situation - very hard braking. The M3/4 that stopped in front of me on the Nordschleife was using full brake force when his activated. Seeing as how Germans are more attentive when driving, I think a higher threshold works for them. Here where everyone is literally texting on the highway doing 70mph with only two car lengths between them and the car ahead of them, a much lower threshold may work best
