Even if you bring air that's a few degrees cooler, the air makes contact with the turbocharger which is touching your exhaust manifold so you deal with the residual heat. The air is then compressed which also raises it's temperature significantly. The reason any of these intakes make most of their power on the top end of the RPM range is simply because the OEM intake can not breathe as well as an open cone filter. Sure you're sucking in a bit of warmer air but the added airflow will always outweigh pulling in air that's a couple degrees cooler with the same airflow restriction.
