That video was...almost pointless. There was no real comparison- just a bunch of drive by's.

I tells me the VAG cars sounded dull. The Audi interior was odd.

indeed - checked out an A3 recently and was baffled but how severely Audi whiffed on the interior ... it's just awful. those A/C ducts are horrid.

Drove the A3 then saw the S3 at the Chicago auto show. The interior was just lame, that combined with the blah exterior styling really turned me off.

Totally agreed. But between S3, CLA AMG and m235 they are all fast enough (had all ordered at one point). Decided on BMW because it looks the best, handles the best and offers better bang for the buck than the others. Don't think Audi will lease out nearly as well and MB is obvs a lot more. None of them are horrible options we're all choosing from a nice set of vehicles. Wanted a blue S3 to follow up my old twin turbo blue S4 but not this time.

Couldn't agree more. Other cars you mention are just fast and mainly due to their AWD platform, the rest is not as good as the M235i.

Right and their "AWD" scare me with that much hp and torque going through a system based on a FWD architecture. If S3 were a true Quattro would be more appealing.

I didn't know the Audi and the VW had the exact same engine.

Yes, they usually do that across different models. Buying an Audi is basically buying a pimped VW

Hell the Veyron and a variety of Lamborghinis have VW engines as well. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.
