This is what USA M235i Owners are Missing out on

Those of you considering the M235i, this is base interior for the M235i outside the US. It is called Hexagon Cloth/Alcantara. Notice the beautiful blue stitching and even ///M color tab on the right side of the upper seat cushion. BMW USA seems to think that Americans prefer fake leather as your base interior. If you like this, write to BMW and ask that they offer it!

Seriously, who at BMW USA thought that black vinyl was better than this???

Yeah, I would have totally considered that as an option. But, I wouldn't hold my hopes up on BMW releasing that here.

I have a 2003 zhp with this type of interior and it still looks great. My 1 series Boston leather was not as durable, took more maintenance and was not as grippy during spirited driving as Alcantara/cloth. Start asking for it and maybe they'll make it an option?

Alcantara/cloth seats FTW. The best upholstery you can get, looks good even after many miles and years and IMHO looks more expensive than the black "leather" BMW is offering.

In EU it is standart with the M packs, X3, X5 and X6's have leather and Alcantara seats, too.

Nice! If I had the option that would be my pick.

The UK gets full leather as standard, but I guess it's included in the price... No option for this as yet, although the post shows a RHD car too, so wonder where that is? Oz, NZ, Japan?

I would definitely go for Alcantara interior if that were an option. We have Alcantara furniture in our house and it looks fantastic after several years - brand new condition.

Alcantara wears much better than leather also.

The base leatherette is junk compared to other brands , you have to step to premium package at least to get decent leather

I checked a new x5 with nappa and i would say that should come in premium package not another 1500 extra on top

This would be my choice as well....Leather starts to get funky in a very short time and i dislike it when it get's those lines and folds. Agreed....Plenty of time for BMW to release this in the USA and also it would be my choice in the M2. Alacantra and cloth for the win. Make it so BMW make it so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..Less=more !!

This is much better than the fake leather that is offered as standard

I would have loved to have this cloth option!!

Maybe for 2015 models? The M3/M4 are going to have cloth options!

It's standard on the new M3/M4 in the US.

They did not think it's better, just cheaper.

Wow, that looks great. Looks better than the speed cloth option in the M3/4 even.

If they offer it for 2015, it will be my top choice!

The cloth/alcanterra seems to be a great match with the overall feel of the car. It would look great with EB exterior.

I'm not sure if I'd get it, but I'd seriously entertain the option. BMW's leather is SO damn saggy! Hate to say it, but it's one of the reasons I'm considering leasing over buying. Nothing serves as a better reminder that you're driving a used car (i.e., a reminder of depreciation) than a driver's seat that's begging for Botox after 10k miles.

I have had BMW leather for 6 years with no sag. You take care of it, it continues to look good.
