Roof rack

Just for forum information, the 1 series roof rack fits the 2 series. I just adjusted the roof rack from my 128i to my M235i. It took over an hour with the bike mounts but was very doable.

The dealer said it won't work and I would have to order a new rack base unit ($250 list price). The official part number is 82-71-2-350-212 for the new 2 series rack. That rack also fits the new 4 series.

You didn't read the post. Even though the dealer said it won't work, it does fit.

I'm pretty sure he is trying to sell one he already has to a new 2 series owner.

Bumping this. I saw a listing for a Thule 1 series roof rack that also fits the 3 series. That means a rack that is made for the 3 series (E90?) could fit, no?
