Comparable to my 135is (M235i actually has more options) and came out to be $550 cheaper. I could add metallic paint and have it be the same price.

While the price says $50,500 with the military sales program, I'm going to take it home for $46,175. Placing the order the first of the month.

So the M235i mirrors are always silver and the brake calipers are always blue? This makes the choice of paint colour very tricky. For instance, if you pick red as the paint colour then it's a basket case of red, silver and blue. A bit lame.

Also a pity that chosing Oyster for the leather seats changes the dash trim to oyster as well. I much prefer it how they have done the Dakota red leather. Wish Oyster was like that.

So leather is required? I don't mind the Sensatec.

I noticed that too... so the premium package seems cheaper as leather is already included anyway

Might actually be going with Manual this time Also, Euro Delivery should knock that price down a bit

If there's no DCT, I don't think I'll go with the manual regardless of how good the automatic may be. A little knock in fuel economy should be worth it if the shifter/clutch is good!

I read in the dealer guide that the Manual Transmission is the same as the one in the new M3/4. So guessing it should be very good: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=932851

That said I have the ZF8 with the "Sport Auto" option in my current 335i. The shifts are blisteringly fast and I think it'd be really hard to tell a difference between the new ZF8 and the DCT.

Great info about the 6 speed! Didn't know that.

I've driven your car actually (belongs to my business partner), and you can tell the difference between the DCT in my car (135i M-sport) and the ZF8 in yours. That said, I don't think you could tell the difference unless you drove them immediately back to back of one another. While it is very good, the engineer in me has to nitpick at the fact that it is a slushbox.

I know they are geared a bit differently too, and the ZF8 has a very tall final drive for fuel economy. While this is nice, I'm not sure I can be sold on the ZF8 transmission.

Then again, I'd be more interested in the M2 than this car.

Agree with that... an M2 would be amazing. That's at least 2 years away probably, enough time to enjoy some quality time with an M235 before upgrading

Hopefully the performance upgrade list will be out soon.

LSD has to be factored in before I decide on this beauty

Thanks OP!

The leather is required on M235i so before you know it, it's already at $46K.

Unless you go crazy with the options on 228i, the price difference with M235i is pretty significance.

I think many people would be happy to just stay with 228i, I know I am.
