In case you haven't yet seen this, here's the official international brochure for the BMW M235i and 2 Series Coupe. There isn't much info that isn't covered in our Official Thread, but if you're already a 2 Series fan, the extra eye candy alone should be worth a look.

The 2 Series began production earlier this month and is set for a March launch date, after it makes its world debut at the Detroit auto show in January. For U.S. customers, the M235i coupe is priced starting at $44,025 and the 228i at $33,025.

Any clues as to when the configurator will be up and running?

Does March launch date mean that deliveries won't start until March??

Nope. It's only an 11 page document. But the eye-candy is totally worth checking out

In the US, is the 228i a rebadged 220i? Only reason I ask is because there is no mention of the 228i in this brochure.

As I mentioned before, I think a 228i M sport would be the ticket. With the 240hp n20, a 6 speed stick and a mech LSD added would be awesome, especially since the 4cyl cars come with a much shorter rear end ratio than the 6 does.

Thanks!

326 hp is identified for the M235i. I thought it was 322.

It's 326 PS, which equals 322 BHP.

I didn't get it why they used such unrealistic photos in the brochure. The cars look like render rather than production-ready.

Anyway, 2 looks fantastic.

When does the M235i Convertible show up in US showrooms? A friend of mine was looking at the 435i convertible, but the lack of a manual transmission for the US market made it a no-go.

The 220 has 180 hp just like the 320, the 228 has 240 so rebadged no. The US doesn't get the 220 but Europe gets the 220d which is faster than the 220. The market isn't big enough since they are selling less than 6,000 1 series a year in the US.

Not in the US (according to Scott26)

I wanted the M235i cloth/alcantera seats.

BMW USA should do a limited run of them : ). Its the same factory right? .

Its been molded on every engine fill oil cap since the e39 M5 - I believe. For sure for a very long time now. On the newer cars there is a sticker.

The 228i would be a 225i over here in Germany. There is no mention bc the brochure is not meant for the US market specifically, but all English speaking markets. I am sure as we get closer to Detroit Autoshow, BMW NA will release the US brochure(and specs) and have the online configurator up and running.
