BMW glass cleaner!

Bought some at the dealer when I bought an oil filter. It’s the best I’ve ever used. Better than Sprayway, Stoners, Griots, ArmorAll. Nothing has come close. No streaks, smears or residual film. I’m just very impressed with it. I guess the price per cc is high but to me, it’s worth it.

Interesting. Haven't had the chance to geek out of glass cleaners but will pick some up. Curious who makes it for BMW.

Not sure if this was ever confirmed (don’t think it has been), but for years it’s been said it’s Sonax. For reference I’ve been using Sonax Glass Cleaner for what feels like over a decade now. I don’t believe there are massive differences in glass cleaners, but there’s enough for me to notice and not change to anything else. My .02.

What always irritated me on all the others was they left streaks. No matter how many cloths used I could never get my windows streak free. That’s all my previous cars. This is the first that doesn’t leave a streak or some glazing. It could be the BMW is Sonax and that’s why you haven’t had a problem😉

The BMW wheel cleaner was Sonax so I would not be surprised.

Do these glass cleaners work like window polishers? Or does anyone know what the difference is (if there is one)?

For as long as I can remember (~25 years), I've used Griot's polypropylene disposable towels and never got any streaks on glass regardless of glass cleaner (used various brands over the years).

I don't see them on the Griot's site anymore, so maybe they are discontinued. Bought my last box in 2020 ($26) and still using. I might have to buy some before they disappear -- can only find them on some resellers sites:

https://www.autoobsessed.com/product...e-towels-14910
https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...towels-150-ct/
https://throtl.com/products/griots-g...-case-of-14910
https://www.mobileigo.com/products/g...50-count-14910

"Our Lint Free Towels (unlike paper towels) have no glues to break down when wet and leave behind no residue. Made of polypropylene instead of paper, they leave behind NO LINT."

All of the ones I listed are just cleaners. No abrasive’s involved

is this the one you bought? if so, I wish I picked up a couple of bottles last month. The parts dept had them on sale for $4 or $5.

Update: received it this afternoon. after comparing it with the Stoner glass cleaner that I usually use, I honestly can't tell any real difference. both have the same amount of streaking(or lack of). the BMW glass cleaner does smell better, almost like an air freshener smell, which is a bonus, I guess. (the Stoner glass cleaner always had that chemical cleaner smell)

In case anyone cares, confirmed with Griot's they are no longer sold.

I found the original source of the product that Griot's was repackaging:

CHICOPEE #8700
VeraClean Critical Cleaning Wipes, Smooth Texture, Quarter-Fold, 12 in. x 13 in., Blue, 400/Carton

Carried everywhere. I bought a box of 400 for $68 which should last me a lifetime since one towel typically does both inside and outside glass with no streaks.

the BMW glass cleaner(white spray bottle) that I received a couple of days ago smelled great. (but can't really tell that it cleans better than the Stoner glass cleaner that I've used in the past)

but for interior glass cleaning, I now prefer the BMW cleaner because it leaves a nice scent inside.

Only glass wipes I’ve ever tried are the Armor All. IMO, they sucked!😉.

I have been using this glass cleaner from Chemical Guys and I am pleased with the results. Also is is tint safe so I have used it on the inside of my door's windows as they have a tendency to get smudged.

my window tint guy gave me one of these wipes for free...

works pretty well, but I probably won't buy it myself because it's $7 a pop.

I find Sprayway to work wonderfully. It was also recently top rated in Consumers reports. Much cheaper than all the others listed above. $2.99 on sale. A steal.

Go to your international grocery store. They have a ton of printed newspapers free to grab. I grab a pack of 20 once every other month.
