Hi,

I'm trying to work out if it is possible to dim the DRL when the turn signal is on, on that side?

I believe I saw a MY16 F20 with Xenon / Adaptive LED and DRL and when the trun was on they appeared to dim.

I assume you need the two FLE modules with cafd_0000243c_XXX_XXX_XXX

It has been confirmed it is a feature on X1's F48 but that uses a different set of coding (mini coding) to F20 & F30's. This may also be a country specific thing too.

I'm trying to work out the coding for a F30 and need some insight.

So, my questions are.

• Is this true for current (late model) MY16 F20's, do the DLR's dim on turn signal?
• If it is true could someone please send me their cafd_0000243c_XXX_XXX_XXX.ncd file to compare coding values?

They do not on my US 2016 F23 228i M-Sport convertible. There is nothing I've seen in the coding cheat sheets that enables/disables any such feature.

Appreciate the response. I'm speaking to an owner of the F48 that does do this but that is based on a F55/F56 Mini. I'm just trying to get near to the coding for a F30 and the F20 is closer.

It may be platform specific and restricted to Adaptive LED headlights.

The Owner of the F48 is sending me his ncd file from one of the FLE units to compare values.

On a car, which has LED's, the FLE units handle the dimming of the DRL's not the FEM unit. It appears not be be a simple aktiv nicht_aktiv but a modification of the 7 bit Werte values that "Map" the power to each LED module dependent on other conditions too.

For Example to go 100% DRL with headlights on you change:

FLE>3004 LmmB>
POLI1_idx change the Wert Value from 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 00 00 00 09 00 00 00

POLI2_idx change the Wert Value from 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 00 00 00 09 00 00 00

POLI3_idx change the Wert Value from 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 00 00 00 09 00 00 00

The bit 7 value of 05 is reference in FLE>3005 LmmX> LmmIdx05_Intensity
Wert = 2E or 46% as opposed to LmmIdx09_Intensity
Wert = 64 or 100%

Bit 7 is the DRL

However, these codes are model specific and interdependent, so I need to see how they connect up.

Could you provide me with your ncd file from your car to help in comparison, specifically either one of the cafd_0000243c_XXX_XXX_XXX from the FLE units?

I'll have to pull that particular file, as it's not one that I used in coding my F30 or my F23, so it's not been saved on my coding laptop. I'll get it to you as soon as possible.

This has now been solved and there's no reason It can't work for a F20 with adaptive LED.
