Just got my M235I

Hello all. I had been hanging out in the M2 forum most of the time. After reading up on it a lot, I realized I would be satisfied with an M235I and it was more the car for me. I look forward to discussing things with you all and, learning about the car.

What I like:
  • The black wheels look really good.
  • The black grills looks fantastic.

What I don't like:
  • Nothing. It looks awesome.
Congrats and enjoy! What transmission did you get?

Thank you. I got the automatic. I know I would have enjoyed the manual a lot, but the dealers seem to always have auto's on the lot. After driving the auto, I do like it also, especially in traffic.

Thank you. I only took one interior pick so far. I'm still trying to get used to all the controls, it came pretty loaded.

Congratulations! Is that the lightweight front lip or the BMW M performance front lip with the sides painted?

On the sticker it's just called "Front-splitter-body colored" It was a $740.00 option that the dealer had on it. I was hoping one of you knew which one it was, and wanted to make sure I got a pic of the front of the car. I like it, and thought I had noticed something different about the front after I test drove it. The dealer added some nice touches on the exterior that I liked.

The only thing I didn't like was the 225's all around. They are all-season and runflats. I guess they were trying to configure for the average consumer, but I would have rather had the staggered setup that usually comes with the car.

Those 225's really look skinny from the back, compared to my Evo X, which was 245 all around.

Ya you typically see the BMW M Performance front splitter just left black - but it looks like they painted the sides to match the body color and left the lip black! That would be my guess anyway - looks great!

The whole lip is painted actually, it just looks like the center is darker/black in the pic.

Looks great man. Welcome to the club.

You should take a peep at reflector delete to see if it's your thing. Was the first thing I got modded on my car.

Looks great, hated those wheels on MG when I saw them in person but perfect on blue! I'd get some M performance pedals, blue reflectors from IND and some chrome indicator bulbs to replace the orange in the headlamp and call it just about perfect.

YAY! Let the Modding begin! only kidding.

I too was about to place a deposit for an M2 a month ago. But with them charging over MSRP in my area and the difference in performance as a daily driver, financially it made more sense to get the M235i.

Sure you can't brag that the vin begins with WBS, and the car doesn't look as aggressive, nor will it keep it's value like the M2 in the future, but still.....you got yourself a fine car sir. I've had mine for about a month now and have Zero regrets.

He ha! When I got my Evo I modded it right away. I will take it easy with this car. I still really like the M2 but it may be too radical for me. I've never been to the track, although I've always wanted to go. On the M2 forum, a lot of the stuff those guys discussed, I wasn't really that serious about, such as the weight , and the fact it had electric-assisted steering.

I just liked the car as it was, and would have been happy with it regardless. I also really wanted a sunroof. That's wasn't dealbreaker, but I really wanted one. I'm just not as hardcore as some on here when it comes to stuff like that. I don't blame them however, and it's actually cool reading some of the stuff they discuss.

I really like this car so far and keep finding reasons to drive it somewhere whenever I can. I really like the interior. I'm really big on nice interiors and the M235I's is not much different than the M2. Some may think it's simple, but coming from an Evo X, it's night and day.
