Yes, I will post up once I have got an issue with handbrake sorted [rear discs sent were F3x part # ending 6797 600] and correct part number is last 3 digits 598.

Fronts - were items 9, 10, 11 and 12 on the attached
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=34_1992 Wrt pads, you can go for item # 8 and I got a deal on a set of F8x MP front pads 34112284765.

Hi BP,

Did you get all the hardware used?

I was compiling all parts to do the conversion:

With brand new parts, to change front calipers, front disc protection plate, 4 drilled M Performance discs and pads:

Code:
1	Caliper housing left 34 11 6 799 469 614,83 € 614,83 €
1	CALIPER HOUSING RIGHT 34 11 6 799 470 614,83 € 614,83 €
4	Hex Bolt (chrome-free CR(VI))	M12X1,5X43 ZNS3 34 11 6 772 117 3,17 € 12,68 €
1	Repair kit, brake pads asbestos-free 34 11 6 878 876 211,95 € 211,95 €
1	Brake pad wear sensor 34 35 6 789 440 22,32 € 22,32 €
2	Brake disc, ventilated, w/holes, front	370X30 34 10 6 797 603 229,85 € 459,70 €
2	Inner hex bolt	M8X14 34 21 1 161 806 0,90 € 1,80 €
1	Protection plate left 34 11 6 872 081 30,94 € 30,94 €
1	Protection plate right 34 11 6 792 238 30,94 € 30,94 €
8	Hex Bolt (chrome-free CR(VI))	M6X12-Z1-8.8 MK 34 11 6 772 886 0,63 € 5,04 €
									0,00 €
1	Repair kit, brake pads asbestos-free 34 21 6 876 422 141,74 € 141,74 €
1	Brake-pad sensor, rear 34 35 6 792 292 28,49 € 28,49 €
2	Brake disc, ventilated, w/holes, rear	345X24 34 20 6 797 598 144,85 € 289,70 €
2	Inner hex bolt	M8X14 34 21 1 161 806 0,90 € 1,80 €
									0,00 €
4	Brake-pad paste (BMW Group)	3G 83 19 2 158 851 0,75 € 3,00 €

									2 469,76 €
=> 2469.76€

M Performance Big Brake Kit in red:

Code:
							Leebmann24 Leebmann24
1	Retrofit kit, sport brake, red 34 11 2 221 445 1 749,00 € 1 749,00 €
2	Brake disc, ventilated, w/holes, rear	345X24 34 20 6 797 598 144,85 € 289,70 €

									2 038,70 €
=> 2038.70€

It's 400€ cheaper with rear calipers on top of the rest!

Even with used front calipers, Red BBK is very well placed price-wise.

But MPBBK is in red, yellow or orange and my car is EBII...

That was my argument. The kit seems like a bargain given that you can sell your blue callipers back out.

Calipers were bought used but in fact were brand new.

Pads, protection plates, discs and wear sensors - all new.

I also added braided steel hoses and RBF - came in much cheaper.

Bee Pee, you're talking about the discounted 370mm calipers in particular, right? I used the same source as you, they're less than half the price of new!

These look good value for anyone stateside looking to upgrade - a pair of 370mm calipers and pads for 620 bucks...:-

http://f20.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1231761

Also the thread has a great photo to illustrate the difference between 340mm caliper [top] and 370/380 MP BBK/F30 msport/F8x std front caliper [bottom]

Bee Pee, I've just received a set of calipers from this seller. Took a while to get to the US from the EU...

The part numbers on these calipers appear (I scanned the bar codes on the back) to be 34116799467 and 468, which appear in no ETKA.

Did you verify the part numbers of the calipers you installed?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,

I didn't scan them TBH so can't verify the part numbers you quote. Looking at the markings embossed on your calipers they look the same as mine.

30mm rotor size change is a huge difference. If this is under $1.5k new rotors included to get 30mm more, that's a steal.

And if u consider selling those old 340mm calipers out to 228 owners, then it might even be less than $1k. Total steal

for me (haven't yet installed, though)

$700 for used calipers, pads, and clips (same vendor as Bee Pee)
$600 for new 370mm rotors (blank face, not drilled)

well under $1.5k...

No.

Bee pee fitted F3X M sport calipers with the 370 rotors. F2X calipers won't work on 370 rotors I believe

F2X front calipers will not work on 370mm rotors. You need front calipers from the F8X, which are the same as the M Performance calipers for the F3X.

After research and test on my 235 and friends 228 I don't think there is a real improvement between 340 kit or 370 kit.

Only improvement is 30mm diameter which make a longer torque distance.

The weak point of this break sets I believe is disk, everybody changed pads but the fixed solid disk really making some issue when it get heated.

Get a floated disk, thats make the new world.
