RW Carbon CF quality ??? see pictures

Dear guys,

I strongly urge you to reconsider VERY carefully if you are buying RW carbon.

Please see attached pictures of my RW carbon both side mirror caps.

I installed in end of april 2015 on my M235.

You can see the bubbles and cracks in the Mirrors, furthermore I don't park under the sun frequently maybe only once to twice in a week. It is always sheltered. None of my M performance CF has this issues.

When I wrote to them to complaint, they told me there is no warranty on their parts at all. Please see the link he send me http://www.********.com/warranty.html link

And told me I need to wax the CF every month. Honestly

Lastly told me to buy a new one from them.

If you intend to use their CF parts for less than 8months then you can purchase it. Cause from my experience it wont last longer.

Well that's disappointing. I like one of their front lip spoilers.

Interesting, but that sucks. Lot's of people on here seem to use their parts. I haven't seen any other complaints. I wonder if you just happened on a bad batch. Also what's the deal with RW's name and site getting the ***** treatment? They seem to be the only ones this happens to from what I've seen.

Yeah, but it's a shame that they don't stand behind their product. This doesn't seem to be a widespread problem so far though. May just be a bad batch as you said.

this happens a lot with Made in China CF mirrors replacement cover but only sells for half the price of RW Carbon. Makes me wonder if its worth spending more?

I'd argue that it's even more important to stand behind your product when a one-off problem occurs. Manufacturing isn't perfect, so these things happen. But, if you don't care about a small failure, why should anyone think you'll care about a big one?

Same as OP. Mine had those little bubbles on the edges AND started to get "cloudy" after only a couple of months. I got the same answer I. e. need to wax polish them. I guess that's why the OEM ones are $500+

I definitely won't be going back to RW sorry to say. Thankfully I kept my original caps. I'll be putting them back on in the spring.

Why pay a pretty large markup for cheap overseas parts when you can get them direct from the manufacturer on E bay? QA....please.

The only reason why I was looking at RW was because they have a 3D Designs front lip clone. $2,000 for 3D. $500 from RW. :/ Now I'm not sure if it's worth it. I don't want it to look horrible after just a few months. I'd rather save up for the real deal.

[/QUOTE] yea , I cant type RW on the title it been *****

They get special treatment here.

To blame it on me not waxing the CF carbon is just lame and unprofessional. it is damn obvious that this is quality issues. But they refuse to admit and take responsibility.

even my exhaust is with CF m performance tips. I don't see even a scratch line without waxing.

This now has me weary about their quality. I have a set on the way and was tempted to order their rear spoiler.

Because they're north of $700CAD (just checked ebay.ca). Even U.S. pricing is around $450US for the OEM's. That's why the knock-offs are so popular because they're generally in the $200US range.

If the OEM ones were around $350 I'd consider it, but $700!?...forget it. In any event, I got suckered with these and I'll be dumping them when I take my car back out in the spring. Shame really.

Here's the care info from their site which also includes the "our warranty is basically no warranty" blurb. You'll need to change the zero back to an o in rwcarb0n. that's the only way I could prevent the board from censoring the url.

I also have these mirror caps and agree the quality is not perfect. I had some fitment issues and a broken tab on the interior. I also received little concern on their part when I called about it. I have had mine about as long as yours. My car is garaged 100% and only has about 2k miles on it. I will definitely keep an eye on them. I am concerned.

This place (getBMWparts.com) has them for around $520 OEM.

http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...24&startrow=26

I currently have the RW ones and so far so good, but my car is garaged all the time and waxed... this coming summer will be the true test.... since I live in AZ at 100+ temps... we will see how long they last.

I wonder what RW would say about what's being said in this thread. This is horrible word of mouth for them.

RW isn't on these boards anymore. Other than BMWP I don't think any aftermarket CF manufacturers have a warranty that would extend out to almost a year from purchase?

Wasn't even a year when I emailed them. Max about 4 months when I asked about warranty replacement.

Interesting they're not on the board anymore...speaks volumes.
