M2 debut confirmed for October 14-15 at DTM event?

BMW M2 debuts according to an BMW Facebook source on October 14th. and/or 15th. possibly at an DTM event.

Ordering begins some weeks later ... first deliveries April 2016.

P.S. the last race of the DTM season will be October 18 at Hockenheimring.

I think "confirmed" is a bit too strong of a word around here, considering how many times we've been wrong.

However, this Oct reveal makes sense to me as my sources have said nothing about a delayed SOP. April delivery seems a little late, but I wouldn't be surprised.

If this is indeed true, only 4 more weeks to go.

This bit of info from the source is very interesting:

Does this mean the M2 will not have the N55 engine ? I always thought so, to be honest. The N55 is an open-deck block and was never very tuneable. It was beyond me how they could extract a track-reliable 360hp from it in the typical, underrated BMW fashion. It should have either a B58 variation (maybe with two turbines and lower compression ratio ?) or a downgraded S55 (that would be fun !). But I would laugh my pants off if BMW copied Mercedes and introduced a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder fully forged turbo engine with 360hp

That is not definite yet but you all shouldn't expect to 100 % that the car will get the N55. I publish only news when I've got more than 3 independently sources and at the moment there is only one source about this topic.

So, nothing to worry about and nothing to get excited about. In a few weeks we will know more, for sure.

Why wouldn't you? You get more manual M-Cars (like the M5 F10 or M6) than we in europe.
