Track Package 228i on 17s
The Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 on BBS SR 17" wheels came in from Tire Rack. Also had the chance while taking off winters to install the ///MSport decals to replace the ones lost when the calipers were painted. The tires are in break-in mode for 500 miles, but the smoothness and hints of how responsive they will be are already clear and excellent! As for the wheels, YMMV, but among the few 17" wheels which clear the MSport calipers, I really like these and BBS quality speaks for itself for these pressure cast wheels from Germany. Of course, this was done because driving in Michigan is like being among the craters of the moon. My 18s are living happily, I hope, on a forum member's car in Florida.

Mostly a matter of climate. I loved the PSS, but would need to take them off long before the snow arrives as we spend a lot of time below 45 degrees in the Fall and early winter, and it takes a while to get back above that as we approach Spring. I had called Michelin and they advised that the rubber compound in PSS can crack if the tire is operated under 45 degrees (Sorry, I realize this is all in Fahrenheit). And, as hard as they get in cold temps, even a cold rain in the low 40s becomes risky. With this setup, I can run on the AS3 all the way until some significant snow falls and then go to Blizzaks, while the PSS would have me on the Blizzaks much longer each year. The tests of the AS3 suggest they come surprisingly close to the capability of PSS, so the sacrifice is not major. I knew I needed to go to 17s with our roads, and considered the PSS vs AS3 decision, but finally came down on enjoying AS3 much longer than the smaller potential increase in performance of PSS over AS3 for fewer months.
