Who wants to take the initiative? I am declining because I do not have possession of my vehicle yet. I guess whoever wants to start it, the only thing you have to determine is the location, date and time?
What about the autocross meets? Doesn't Houstons Bmw autocross chapter meet once a month? |

Yes they do. I was thinking of trying to attend the autocross on 3/8. Anyone else interested?

I'm of the thinkng as popular as it was and not to mention the large amount of Supercars and Exotics in the Houston area, it will be back after some retooling and strict enforcement of cars that can participate. In my opinion what ruined what we had were the individuals with low rider Chevys and slammed Cadillacs with the booming stereos mixing in with Lamborghini's, BMW's, Ferrari's and etc. I don't have anything against those type of cars but they didn't belong. There are multiple car shows and events that cater to cars like that. Regardless, there's plenty of summer weekend car meets in Houston. This summer should be a blast in these new 2's!

Picked up my vehicle earlier today, transaction went smooth. Best financial adviser I've ever met is at Bmw of Clear Lake. First off, I would like to thank foglesre for recommending this dealership when none of the other dealerships in Houston were willing to offer discounts on the 2 series. Props to my SA Joshua Rucker for keeping his cool and continued professionalism during our negotiations. I usually tend to upset a lot of SA's because I'm difficult to negotiate with when it comes to new car sales. Kudos to Nathaniel Dickout (my FA) for helping me find another $500 off when we went through the finances. If any of ya'll are looking for a no hassle discount on a 2 series, I recommend contacting them. On to the vehicle. I'm surprised I didn't get into an accident the first twenty minutes I was driving back home from fiddling with the idrive. I turned the knob on the radio a few notches and there's no noise. I turned it a few notches more and there's still nothing. At this time I thought my radio was broken or the there was something wrong with the settings. After a few minutes of silence, I decided to turn the knob up to halfway and I finally heard some music. The base audio is no joke, it's absolutely horrible. I think it's probably the worse stock audio I've ever had out of every vehicle I purchased new. The music is so flat, no bass, no treble, nothing. I don't know why the stock audio is horrendous, but maybe one day someone can swap out parts individually and figure out what specifically could be replaced to make it a lot better. One of my first upgrades will be the audio system. I hope it's not bad to do this while driving, but I switched between the comfort/sport/sport + modes about ten times. Despite having the vehicle in sport+ mode, there's still some body roll. It doesn't feel as planted or you could say on rails as my previous vehicles (2013 brz and 2001 itr). I didn't push it hard because I'm a firm believer of following the break in procedures outlined by the manufacturer. Other than that, the vehicle felt great. It took me a good minute to figure out how to work the seats, but I think I nailed it. The seats feel like they're literally on top of the floor with no rails. It's great for tall people, but for me I had to adjust it half a inch or so. I thought it was funny when I released it and it went all the way up. The way the seat looks at that position reminds me of the seat the drivers are on in a school bus. I think they're ten way adjustable? I love these seats!!!! They hug me and provide excellent comfort. I have a pretty nasty back and every time I drove the brz, it would murder it. After an hour long drive back home from the dealership, my back felt fine!! Anyone that purchases a 2 series definitely need to pay a little extra for a package with the sport seats. The only concern I have is the headlights had a little condensation in them after I picked it up. It might've been from the super cold weather this morning and they probably used warm water to wash the vehicle before I arrived. Regardless, the headlights shouldn't have condensation in them at all I think? I also took a look underneath the vehicle and the exhaust looks like it's one piece from the catalytic converter or down pipe? If any of you M235i owners plan on selling your stock muffler, please let me know! Can't wait to finish breaking in the vehicle, start modding it a little and go out and fully enjoy it. I hope I'm able to meet some of you guys soon so I can get new and or better ideas on what mods to do. To be honest, I won't mod it much. All I have plans for right now is the audio and rear diffuser. I might delve into more hp by changing the DP/exhaust, but that's at least two years out. |
