aFe Sprint Booster - Throttle Remapper

Might be buying a new piggyback module for the throttle. The inline module remaps the throttle to increase throttle response allowing quicker engine response. Easy installation that just plugs inline with the existing throttle harness. Anyone use this on a previous BMW model or current M235i?

From what I can tell driving my BMW rental right now I think sport and sport+ will take care of this throttle response. Sometimes in sport mode I even throw my own head back because I am honestly not ready for the increased throttle response from the pedal.

Best double check on this before purchase. I may be wrong on this, but what it does has already been added in with Sport and Sport+.

It is a boon for other era cars not equipped as such from factory.

Agreed. The remapping of the throttle map is already being done in the Sport/Sport + modes. Interesting to see how this add-in module would increase those modes. aFe is selling this under the M235i section which makes me believe it has been tested and approved.

Two members on here have bought downpipes on here from aFe that was on their website that was 'tested and approved' that did not end up fitting. Not sure I'd trust this type of product just because it's listed under the m235i.

I would rather get an actual tune ( JB , Jb4 or AFE scorcher)
Throttle remapping is changed by the Sport and Sport+

I think throttle response in Sport(+) is pretty crazy already - you want an on/off switch? haha

It would be most interesting to see how this changes eco pro. I like the coasting feature but hate the throttle response. That being said, the gas savings in eco pro would probably not be significant enough to warrant the price of the sprint booster if it did work in eco pro.

Throttle Remapping vs. Sport (+) mode

I disagree with every single comment on this thread. In my experience, throttle remapping is an excellent way of reducing turbo lag. This includes modern cars with "Sport" mode(s). I am looking in to re-mapping my freshly "Dinanized" M235i as we speak.

I had a sprint booster on my fbo audi and i loved it honestly. It worked well with my bolt ons and the APR tune

I'm considering the Sprint Booster for when I'm not in Sport+. I'd love to have just a little more throttle sensitivity in traction off and DSC modes.

I had one of these things on my tuned X3 35i. You'll get crap gas mileage and it'll make comfort like sport was and sport will be like gunning it from every stop light. I was hoping it would get rid of the occasionally situation where I would come to a rolling stop and punch it and the X3 would pause for a bit and then go, this also happened when switching lanes going 25-30 and I'd switch lanes, try to accelerate, pause .5 seconds and then it'd go...it did nothing to reduce this pause. The M235 has this same issue from time to time, but not as much as the X3. I don't know if it's traction control as I've tried sport and sport + and it still happens or it something with the AWD system or tranny, but it's annoying. Same stuff seams to happen to the MB GLA45's, so hard to pinpoint.

Why not opt for real power gains instead of something that scales the throttle?
