Can't watch the video right now cause I'm at work but the 228i is the best looking by a country mile.

This just shows that BMW should already have brought a 1er sedan or a 2 series gran coupe to market.

Clearly a 2 series sedan would match up directly with the competition and also score the win

+1. The S3 looks amazing. A friend bought one recently and let me drive it. I was very impressed with the acceleration and handling. We took to a track nearby and he almost beat my E90 M3 and his car did not have 1,000 miles. That thing is a beast!

Its a N52, as per my realoem readout - I dont know where you dug up your piece of info.

agreed, but I've gotten F-series non-diesel loaners which sound about the same

The E90 335d does not sound like this by comparison

That's a 3.0L 6 in the 335d, and what you heard was a 2.0L (4 Banger) Diesel, that most likely not even completely warmed up yet.

The valve train does sound like a diesel at idle, so I hear you there!
