Is the ride really that soft? I get pretty fair amount of road feedback....I am just not a fan of the run flat tires.

Well, they make it soft for the rfts. Sports mode with chasis setting is ok

I thought it didn't come with run flats. Doesn't your car have Michelin Super
Sport (non run flat) tires?

For better or worse, my car has run-flat tires all season tires.

I'm surprised by the OPCs lap time, given the power deficit and weight penalty compared to the other two. I can't believe the LSD makes such a huge difference!

I find the RFTs, at least on the F30, to be quite forgiving. I also prefer them based on the convenience/safety aspect. I don't think I will ever get a car without them..

I'm guessing you have the adaptive suspension (not sure if it's standard in the US)?

I went over some not so smooth road today and the sound in the cabin was, horrible. The tires sounded hollow...and definitely weren't dampening the sound...I am just not fan. Maybe it because I'm coming for '12 A6 and the road noise was non-existent on that car and "20 tires and stance were a blast to drive. I get the safety aspect though, but I can't help but to think this technology should be a bit more advanced at this point to make these tires better.

It is probably because you're coming from the A6! And maybe because my previous car was an E90 with first generation RFTs..they were terrible compared to the ones on the F30! MUCH smoother now. As for noise, the wind noise filtering into the F30 cabin drowns out the tire noise

M235i wins on straight line and comfort without a doubt. The Subaru is one hard riding car. The lap time surprised me because the M235i was faster than the Subaru at C&D's lightening lap. I wonder if the M235i at C&d was auto, here it is 6-mt

Nope it's because VIR is a power course , lots of slow corners leading to long straights . On a tight track the M235's soft suspension and weight obviously hurt it quite a bit .

All season Bridgestone RFT's are standard. Michelin PSS non RFT's (summer tires)are a no cost option on the M235i.

That is most likely the answer, but I still wonder if the C&D car was auto or manual, just because I want to know.

The Opel is not sold in the USA, so between the Subie and BMW, the beemer is a much better daily drive, but beyond some folks budget.

GM and the Cadillac ATS would like to have a word with you.

ATS is not even comparable to F30 (which it was designed to compete) and you can disagree as much as you want. I drove them back to back with couple other enthusiasts. We all agreed on that. Cadillac will never compete with BMW

This track was much smaller/tighter, reducing the 235i's hp advantage and enhancing the Subaru's AWD and tighter suspension.
