N55 Stage 1 Installed, no difference

Hi everyone, I'm new to the BMW world so go easy on me this time around! I just picked up a used N55 Stage 1 from a guy on craigslist. I got everything all wired in (all 2 of the plugs) and..... nothing. Car starts, no errors, drives fine, but no difference in power at all. I suspect that the previous owner must have changed it to map 0 or something. Is there any way I can check that? Or do I have to buy the usb harness and plug into a laptop?

Thanks!

On Stage 1 there is no map to change. But you can change the boost gain value.
You will need to get the USB cable to find out what is the exact setting.
Worst case scenario, you can always contact the support at BMS.
