Key pouch for BMW 2 Series

I am sure that I am not the only BMW 2-Series owner frustrated that there is nowhere to store the car key unless one of the two cup holders isn't being used.

I found the perfect custom solution on the craft website Etsy, commissioning a custom leather person to make a pouch that fits in the space between the handbrake (which I never use) and the transmission tunnel. Photo of my M235i is attached. I paid $32 including shipping.

The Etsy store is customleatherforyou. The following link should work:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/5342370...g-for-key-tray. The store owner, Mikie, is a total delight.

I just put it in the cup holder spot of the door with my wallet in the spot behind it.

You should always use the parking brake when parked though. I have my key in the m performance key case and it fits snugly in the tray which is the ash tray (I never use the ashtray).

sports seats... pull the passenger seat out as far out as you can, makes a nice pocket for things like keys between thigh bolster and seat.

Yes, you're right. I'm losing sleep over this travesty. In fact I'm so tired, I keep forgetting there's an ashtray, a glove box, a center console, door pockets....Hell, on the rare occasion I'm not driving around naked, there are even my pants pockets.

I used to stick my iphone in there until I got the Burger magnetic mount. Wouldn't pull it out at all; just slid it in there.

Car won't lock unless there is a key outside and near the door. Threw my gym bag with key inside in the trunk not thinking and it beeped st me. Was still able to open the trunk again with key inside and no spare outside with me.

I always keep my key in my pocket. For those who don't have or use pockets, I suggest using sticky sided Velcro - stick the key anywhere you desire, even under the dash and out of the way.

For those who drive naked, there is still one possible storage spot available. I doubt you will forget where you put your key.

In Texas, locals say "necked" instead of naked. As in "I'm fixin to drive necked to the Whataburger".

I am still trying to learn the local language here.

You're "fixin"....was something broken?

I'd apply the Texas philosophy to already knowing English.....Stand Your Ground!

This thread is like the thread where someone was trying to sell knee rests for "taller" people...

I believe for another $20 you can have a key pouch sewn into the knee pad.

Another essential missing feature of our cars is a leather ball holder pouch for those that carry around extra large ones. Just add an extra $25 to have an ///M stitched on to it...

Mine never leaves my pocket, because there's no reason to take it out.

I've always wondered what the point of these things were. Is there a specific reason why there's a dedicated spot for the key there?
