First Chips on Front Bumper
I have an M235ix that's just a year old. i came back from my motorcycle shop ands saw 2 chips on the top of the front "pliable" bumper. My heart sank. I am ADHD and find it hard to cope with imperfection. I know some of you might laugh at this. I have touch up but I know of no way to make it look good-not perfect, but good. It's right next to the BMW emblem. I suppose I could spend good money to repaint but then another chip might just come. Anyone out there know of a way to touch up so it looks good? I used a tooth pick to just try to get inside the chip but it still is 2 dots. I'll let it dry today then try polishing it tomorrow. Sometime the more you do the worse it gets. I did not hear anything hitting but it did. I know I need therapy. lol. help me

Sorry to hear that. And this is the reason why I have all my cars installed with PPF ("clear bra") first thing last 10 years.
You should try this method: |

Most paint is trash nowadays thanks to "green" environazi regulatory groups but BMW seems to have used poster paint for our bumpers. Mine chipped thr first month of ownership and I've given up... I'll have it resprayed eventually but it looks so tacky with gouges all ovet

They only thing you can do is repaint, or a clear bra over the bumper and hood to prevent more.

I go to a pro touch-up guy in my area and you cannot see chips after he is done. He mixes his own paint based on the vehicle paint code and doesn't use the worthless dealer touch-up. He will also air brush a bigger chip and he is reasonable. Chips are inevitable so I'm thinking clear bra.

Chip on plastic bumper I wouldn't dwell on and just forget about it.
No doubt the dealer touch-up paint is a thick blob of color, but it's intended purpose is that once applied to a cleaned stone chip on metal it will offer rust prevention and stay thick for the life of the car. I myself just a layman's opinion...doing a lot of paint correction and wet-sanding and polishing pads does thin the finish over a large area, so sometimes leaving things alone or a small dab of touch-up isn't too objectionable. And I've read stories on the internet, so there is rumor that some people have gotten paint peel from clear bra when incorrectly removing or when it peels from age or some x-acto knife scratches when the clear-bra or wrap was installed. I own a detailing business and I get requests to touch up stone chips. I do not do touch up but I do send them to a guy who does my touch up. The touch up paint never matches especially on light color vehicles and sometimes it is best left alone.

There are a few good kits to cure the blobs. I use Langka repair kit which many like. My prior 2 cars were silver and chips were not as noticeable. Darker colors really show the chips. I clearbrad mine with Xpel and am very pleased.

Dr. Colorchip (drcolorchip dot com) has kits with paint and blending solution that have worked well for me for years. Best way to repair paint chips and scratches.

thanks everyone. i watched the video, Dr. Colorchip, and it looks too good to be true. amazing! i will order it. i already did my touchup with factory paint. mine is mineral grey and the touchup is way darker. i just could not wait as it was right on top. not the brightest move. i wish i could get rid of the 2 I did and get this kit for those. oh well, more to come so this kit looks amazing. thank you.

I have a Dr Colorchip kit and a Langka kit, have tried both, and prefer the Langka. It's easier for me. I use a 000 artist paint brush and the OEM BMW touch up paint. I also have an 8x loupe, making it easier to inspect after filling in the hole and wiping it over with the blob eliminator solution. It's definitely not as noticeable as leaving the blob.
