Leather is standard in the States, I'm not sure about elsewhere.

As a courtesy driver for a 7 brand luxury car dealer, I sit in alot of vehicles...black vinyl is the worst IMO for comfort in summer and winter; black leather somewhat less but black fabic much more comfortable in severe (hot or cold) weather.

Exactly why my MINI was ordered with the optional black fabric sport seats....and wish the 2 series had that same option as well.
