Interesting. My reporting on future BMWs always focuses on U.S. models, and the article only talks about the 330e that will be available here, but not the EU-only 325e. I wonder why...

And I appreciate Scott's confirmation that the real car won't look like this POS render.

I guess a design in line with the 7 serie? Is it going to look like a smaller 7 serie like the C-class look like a smaller S-class? How much carbon fiber will be use for the car? What will be the size of the battery pack in the PHEV version? Is the electric version a possibility for LCI, a fake rumor or is it going to happen before that?

Finally the most important: Alot of members have recently bought F31 in North America is Bmw taking note of this?
Scott is keeping quiet about the the G20 because of the imminent launch of the G30 5 series ;-)

Yup hopefully they don't screw up the pre LCI like they did with the e90 and F30

Does the chasis really need major rework guys? How about hydraulic steering bringback?
How about give us double wishbone in the front? Ahh either way I wont be in the market for another 3series for several years still
Not accurate.

It has exhaust pipes.

I was wondering what the crazy line outside my local BMW dealer was for this morning. Curious to see how many deposits they'll have by the end of the weekend.

As big of a fan as I am of BMW I'm generally interested to see if tesla can get this model 3 to market properly. If they do, and can keep up with demand, it's going to be tough for the rest of the manufacturers to catch up. Many will of course -- but tesla would have an interesting road ahead of them if they actually pull this off. I have my doubts.

I doubt it, Tesla is far ahead of BMW on the Electric vehicle market, You might not like Tesla at all but they have done something amazing they have created such competition and forced the old dogs to learn how to sit :-) And now they are competing with Tesla on the EV market witch is the way we are going and moving on to hybrids and such cars in the future. The more competition the greater it is for us the end consumers.

I have said it before BMW needs to adapt faster to the new markets out there and start deploying tech faster in to their cars right now its just pure nonsense of them. Now for example of that i mean is,

Lets take the new 7 Series luxury and all that with new tech, Then after that car has gotten all the tech they let it slip down the line to the 6er,5er,4er,3er,2er,1er and so forth by the time the tech gets to the 1er its old as heck, And a new series is coming its a fantastic way of selling tech and getting your money back for the investment in it, But i makes BMW look dated compared to the other brands who adds super new tech to their models faster and faster, Given that it works properly and you won't be having your car at the shop 3 days a week out 7 cause of it.

BMW needs to invest a lot more money in developing tech that gets released for more models simultaneously. Or maybe offer people who already have a certain model to get an upgrade packages for a certain price that adds the new tech without being told "Its not possible" from the dealers and such

Scott, the interesting piece for many of us is the all electric version.
Care to say something about that?

Regardless of plug in or fully ekectric. Please bring a touring version of the 3xxe in europe!

Actually, I kind of keyed on the Hybrid M Model, though I'm fine waiting for the communications to take place in their own good time. Think Porsche 918 attributes at an attainable price point. very high mileage and very high performance, though the notion of a tossable go-kart like chassis will fade away unless we really get the CF and battery technology down.

Also interesting to see the rumor that Germany will ban internal combustion cars by 2030. That will certainly force evolution of the automotive landscape. It seems like fast charging is coming along and should be mature by then. I wonder if we'll have configurable sound tracks. Any driving sim you buy today has different cars with audio. I'd imagine we're not going to want to live in a TRON like world of screeching e-mobiles.

Also, do the kidney grilles go away, or do they become tattoos like old lady eyebrows? non functional cosmetic CF bits?

the Tesla 3 noses look strange.

It's just a render and a bad one. Hood line here means nothing.

These low emission cars are going to either be slow or very expensive.

What is an M550e? Hope it is not a 4 cylinder.
