how many more inches is this wheelbase gonna be? 10? lol
that's where they're going anyway

they talk about legroom on the back, boot space, but totally forget about the original point of the 3 series: HANDLING with practicality. And not PRACTICALITY with some handling.

Oh well, at least we got the 2 series to play with

I think many people know, but there is still a tendency to react to whatever is available on the screen. There have been some nice looking renders that I recall from the past that didn't play out, so the knife cuts both ways. Either way, it's a reference point from which feedback can be gathered.

The car looks good, but I don't like the bigger and bigger trend. Where is it going to end?
Specially when BMW doesn't have small car offerings beside the 2 series and the already old Z4. I know BMW says small sporty cars are not selling well enough, but everyday I see more and more new Audi TTs circulating ...in fact everyday I'm seeing it more attractive...

An all electric 3 series would be a sight to see.

Electric cars that aren't completely unique in their appearance don't sell well in the private market. Apparently people who buy those things put a lot of value in everyone knowing they aren't driving a conventionally-powered vehicle.

Those are just temp lights while they test it. Other manufacturers use the same lights for testing. The production model will not have those lights.

I hope so. We need to stunner to stop the C class. The new 5 is amazing in the flesh and fits the exce understated image well but the 3 is now against some serious challengers and they have moved the styling game forward.

If you think it's bad at BMW, you should check out MINI. They have stuff now that's bigger than a first-gen Explorer (not joking).

I doubt it, Tesla is far ahead of BMW on the Electric vehicle market, You might not like Tesla at all but they have done something amazing they have created such competition and forced the old dogs to learn how to sit :-) And now they are competing with Tesla on the EV market witch is the way we are going and moving on to hybrids and such cars in the future. The more competition the greater it is for us the end consumers.

I have said it before BMW needs to adapt faster to the new markets out there and start deploying tech faster in to their cars right now its just pure nonsense of them. Now for example of that i mean is,

Lets take the new 7 Series luxury and all that with new tech, Then after that car has gotten all the tech they let it slip down the line to the 6er,5er,4er,3er,2er,1er and so forth by the time the tech gets to the 1er its old as heck, And a new series is coming its a fantastic way of selling tech and getting your money back for the investment in it, But i makes BMW look dated compared to the other brands who adds super new tech to their models faster and faster, Given that it works properly and you won't be having your car at the shop 3 days a week out 7 cause of it.

BMW needs to invest a lot more money in developing tech that gets released for more models simultaneously. Or maybe offer people who already have a certain model to get an upgrade packages for a certain price that adds the new tech without being told "Its not possible" from the dealers and such
You make great points but I wish BMW would start making fun cars for the purist which was the reason we all became passionate about the brand. I personally don't care for all the tech.

It's about time they start dropping some weight. Now it'll only take like 3 new generations to get the weight back where it's supposed to be!

Well I hope whatever comes of the next 3er it loses some weight, has better steering feel, the hybrid is more exciting than the 330e and more polished/better battery than Active Hybrid 3.
