Should the trunk pop up when using the keyfob?

When using the trunk release button on the keyfob, the trunk is unlocked but it doesn't open (pop up). Is it normal for the 2 series, or are my struts just not holding anymore?

They won’t pop up, I fitted new struts from a company called emerald that make the boot pop up!
