First time poster here looking for some diagnostic help. My 2014 M235i occasionally has issues starting after it's been driven...no issues on cold start. When I press the ignition, I get around a 2-3 second delay while the car attempts to start. Dashboard goes dark, lights up a couple times before the engine kicks over. I took it to the dealer, who said there were no codes and that they could not diagnose the problem because the couldn't replicate the issue. I offered to send them video of the issue, but they insisted that their technician had to experience it in person.

Seems like a weak battery to me. Has it ever been replaced before?

It was replaced in the last 2 years...the dealer tested it and determined it was not the battery. However, I agree with you.

I recently had a no start problem. It was the ground strap.

I can’t seem to find the location of the ground strap on the 2….

Yeah weak battery to me. How are you driving habits? Do you not drive the car often? Is it cold where uou are located? Test your battery on your own at a auto parts store or if you have carly app you can do a battery test.

It was the battery…I replaced it and all is well. Appreciate the help.
