A new turbo?? Geez, I'd hope they'd get more than 440hp (crank) out of it with a new turbo.

You don't know that. 3k for a tune is asinine.

I have the stage 2 which feels great right now. But to spend an additional 1k for tune + 1k for inter cooler + 2.5k for the turbo to get 60hp over the advertised S2 crank hp numbers are pretty steep. Gonna have to think this over.

I'd rather spend that cash on light weight wheels right now.

It's $3,200 for the tune and $1,000 for the intercooler and $2,500 for the turbo to get those numbers... that's $7K and does not include intake, exhaust and other stuff they say you 'need' to get to that.

The S3 tune alone will probably be only 1k for those who have the S2 tune already. Dinan normally charges the difference in price when you upgrade. For example S1 tune is 2k and I paid only the $200-250 difference to upgrade to S2 for tune alone.

It's the piggyback tune plus the $3,500K for the intercooler and turbo.

I was just talking about the tune not the hardware you need. So overall it'll be around 4500 for S2 guys to upgrade versus 7k for those starting from scratch.

I wonder what the dealerships will charge for labor to install the fmic and turbo... For this kind of money you could go FBO plus pure stage 2

I think it's definitely more than what I want to spend. I think a good set of rims is in my future instead

Somebody is fan boying... This isn't the official Dinan thread. I've refrained from sharing any criticism over there.

Stage 3.5 or 4. Is an interesting price perspective, the exhaust really tips the scales.

Actually 1000 for an intercooler and 2500 for a turbo is not bad price.

I wonder if it actually includes an upgraded turbo, I can't find anything on Dinan's site... I'm inclined to think that it's just piggyback, IC, intake, and exhaust.

If it does include an upgraded turbo, I'd expect they're partnering with Pure.

Upgraded turbo would be part of the package. It is not on the site as the Intercooler, stage 3 / 4, and the big turbo are not yet available as they are still awaiting production pieces and getting the associated tuning tweaked.

Not much to speak of other then camber plates, custom Koni shocks/struts and our own electronic shock system (for cars not equipped with M Adaptive suspension) are all in various stages of development. While the electronic shock system is cool I have no idea how they plan on making it practical within a realistic price point.

If you break it down in general even with the approximate inflated pricing on the intercooler and the turbo everything is realistically within the current market place and is not staggering largely above that. The intercooler at 1k (again a high estimate) is about $200 above the top of the line name brand as an example but we are pretty confident it will out-perform it quite handily in head to head tests. The turbo kit at the $2500 price point is well within the market as that pricing would include install kits, core charges, etc. Not to mention the big sell point on the turbo being is that it is intended to be, and will be submitted to be, emissions legal. The only item that is priced out of line of the competition is the tuner itself which is partly due to extensive R&D, emissions legality, and warranty coverage, all of which are unique unto the product so it just naturally is going to be more expensive. The other thing that people (typically non-Dinan customers) seem to always miss in reference to pricing is that the upgrades in the stages are only charged the difference in cost. If you have stage 2 and ware going up to stage 4 you are just paying $500 for the upgraded tune not a full amount.
