Not true. There are 2dr sedans, and 4dr coupes. Sedan or coupe is differentiated by the roofline and rear seat space, not the number of doors.

Though that said, the 2-series is a coupe. But if they make a Gran Coupe version with 4 or 5 doors it will still be a coupe.
Just because you believe all that, doesn't make it true.

I recently had some minor service done to my M235, and when I got to the loaner car desk the guy said it was my lucky day. It turned out they were giving me the brand new 5 series(the all-new model). I had it two days. It is a very nice car, but if you like a M235 it's the exact opposite of what you want in a car.

lol yea, those seats are pretty swank. Just two totally different vehicles altogether, both have their intended purposes, I suppose.. One is a weekend/daily thrasher, and the other is an every day fun sporty large sedan, of which still has some performance principals (i6T, RWD?), just not performance focused coupe like the F22 in terms of size, nimbleness, etc.

GL, OP! Hope it serves its purpose, for you!

I'll agree with you on a formal roofline 2-door as being a sports sedan, though. E30 comes to mind.
That is only true to Americans.

But the E30 is certainly a 2dr sedan. Just like the current 4-series Gran Coupe is a coupe. As is a Rover P5B, and all sorts of cars from the 30's to today. It was just never a common body style in the US. I would even go so far as to say an X6 meets the proper definition of coupe. Though my personal definition of that one is "stupid".

The 7 or so billion people who don't live in the US are not wrong about this. The 300 million or so Americans with no knowledge or appreciation of the history of the automobile are.

We're the only ones who count.

Reminds me of when Mercedes was trying to convince people that the R-Class was something other than a high-performance minivan...

I am not sure where you come up with these microwaved numbers, but I am referring to proper names mate, not the BS that the majority has so fucking incorrect...

the literal definition of a coupe is a fixed roof and 2 doors.
