There has to be a regulator of some sort that responds to the switch input and controls either the change in wattage or additional elements to provide more heat. that would be the place to start. If it is both seats then it is not the seats themselves (unless they install the wrong elements which is unlikely) but something common to both.
Your dealers mechanics don't sound too competent in electrical troubleshooting. Probably following a flowchart rather than understanding the system and troubleshooting it effectively. Good luck. |

I'd agree with this ^^. Battery seems the last place to look, unless it was going dead on you when you used the heaters. I'd politely demand that they elevate this to a regional tech consult, after two failed attempts. Especially since there is some chance that something in the system is adding unwanted resistance, which could be getting real hot at the same time the seats aren't.

Like its frustrating cause both time they told me its fixed and its not...
I heard of a guy saying that he had the same problem on these forum and resetting connected idrive worked... as its using battery...not sure if that would fix it but its worth a try....do you know how to do that? like the previous car owner had it and its his stuff in the connected drive like i cant remove or anything... How can i ask a regional tech consult ?? |

I haven't had to do this, but I think you would start with the dealership owner/head honcho, or go thorough BMW USA to get the regional representative. Regardless of what is causing it, they've clearly failed twice by telling you it was fixed when it wasn't - that should be enough justification to get some new eyes on it. In many states, 3 attempts w/o a fix can invoke 'lemon law' rules, and they should certainly get you a loaner while they figure it out for the third time.

It's worth noting that I don't think the seat heaters are all that effective. Mine get warm. Sometimes I forget it's on and don't really notice it. Might just be a weaker unit than you are used to.
Then again I live in Southern California. Cold days here are low 60s. |

I accidentally turned the seat heater on during one of those 'drive for a cause' test drives (either the 5 series or the 4GC) and it fried my ass in about 2 minutes (wasn't a cold day, but it felt like you could cook on it).
