Intake Suggestions

Thinking of putting an intake on my m235. What is the best one on the market? I've heard of afe and Dinan. which one do you guys suggest to get the most performance out of my car. FYI I plan on putting the M performance exhaust on it as well...Thanks

I don't have personal experience but may as well go with Dinan if you don't mind the price. AWE tuning is coming out with what looks like a great intake as well but it's supposed to be $1k.

Yeah the dinan is a little up there in price. Do you know how AFE compares to the dinan?

Define best.
In terms of performance they are identical.
BMS, AFE and Injen are the most popular

Doesn't it have quite a few issues lately? And they are revising it to solve them correct? May be better off waiting on that one.

Agreed. From all the research I have done, the bms is the only one I have read about that had rough idle issues.

That being said, it is not common and mostly happens in cold weather. Burger Tuning are working on a solution that will be released soon

Just throw a drop in filter replacement and call it a day... Spent your money on a DP, JB4 or something cosmetic that you like.

If you are on a budget, i definitely suggest you save your money for a tune, downpipes, intercooler and charge pipe. Once all get all these mods, start thinking about getting an intake

Yeah that's what I had been reading as well so I am kind of skeptical about it.

Mine hasn't had a single idle issue. Idles smooth as stock and sounds amazing. Couldn't be happier with it to be honest.

The issue is not brand specific. It will happen with any intake, the reason why you hear more about it with the BMS is because BMS outsells the other brands.

95% of the people who have aftermarket intakes (BMS,AFE,Injen) are not having any problems or getting any codes.

I installed an Injen on my 235 last week. It sounded amazing and you could really hear the turbo spool and the DV blowing off. However, after the fist week I got a CEL (code 0172) running rich in bank 1. It would idle really rough and sometimes stall on cold starts. Even once warmed up if I was stopped at a light it would idle weird too. I put the stock intake back on today and immediately the CEL was gone and idle was back to normal. Im very disappointed. Waste of almost $300.

I think he is saying to get a tune rather than bother with an intake. I want an intake too, already have a tune and MP Exhaust but I just want to hear the turbo more.

I think I am just going to sit it out and wait til BMS revises their intake to solve the MAF and idle issues it has.
