Decided to move up to D1 today. I'm in socal so only get 91 octane gas and no mods. after about 40 miles of driving got a CEL P440. seems like it doesn't like D1 setting. switched back to C1 and the code has now cleared. just wanted to share for those with the lower octane and temps above 85.

When I visited SoCal (West LA) by Marina Del Rey there were literally ARCO, 76Gas and another station with 91, and 93 .. I rented a 428 Convertible at the time (february) and i used 93 because the renter gave me a nice discount so I felt it deserved better quality gas than 91
How come everyone says there's no 93 in LA ?

when switching to D it felt a little sluggish in the lower rpms but pulled harder on the top end.
I have seen 93 octane gas a while back but have not seen any recently in socal. may have to go on a search for some. |

Also, just wanted to add that I did about a 100 miles on C and no CEL reappearing. seems like C is the highest for the type of gas and climate for socal (if no mods)

Nothing above default "B" setting is recommended for 91 octane and all else stock. Go back to that. It's only a 1.5% difference between each setting, not sure why this matters, but it does, and can cause issues/CEL. From my understanding is RC is tuned for 93 octane not 91, so you wouldn't want to push it further than default. Setting D is most I could go with stock downpipe and 93 octane; setting B is your best bet.

Also make sure you use a TopTierGas.com Station preferably Shell/Valero/Phillips66/Texaco/Costco/BP/76 something like that

I have the racechip ultimate installed on my auto M235i coupe and love it so far but have some questions. Im currently on the "C" setting running shell 93 octane in south florida and it seems its a good compromise between power/reliability. I originally put about 75 miles on stock B setting and then upped it to D skipping C and put another 50 miles on it and it def felt quicker. On the highway building up boost and shifting while on accelerator the gear changes were much more abrupt and didn't know if it can handle the extra power/tq long term. I read that N55 ZF 8 tranny is rated at max power which is stock...I then settled on C setting and gear changes aren't as abrupt, but idk if I didn't give the setting enough time to adapt or what. I previously had an auto JCW mini with BMS tune and needed to replace diverter valve as I was loosing boost. You guys have any issues with stock diverter (Bov) valve yet with increased boost pressures?

I, along with thousands of other L.A. residents and high performance car owners would love to gas our vehicles at these stations offering 93 octane. The gas providers in California dropped their premium octane rating to 91 R+M/2 back in 2001 or 2002 ever since the California EPA banned the MTBE additive. How a New Yorker can suddenly find 93 octane fuel that we Angelenos (and all Californians for that matter) have not been able to locate is simply a miracle, something along the lines of the immaculate conception. Please share these locations. Tens of thousands of SoCal modded cars, muscle cars, resto-mods, and 4 wheelers will be lining up in the Marina Del Rey streets, waiting to gas up with 93 octane and their drivers will be switching over to 93 octane maps shortly thereafter. Lincoln Blvd, Culver Blvd, Washington Blvd and the 90 freeway will turn into drag strips and Rob from NYC will be hailed as a hero. Or perhaps was it simply a hallucination? So perhaps it is labeled at 93 but its not then. I was in Marina Del Rey on Feb 2015 for 5 days, took the 428 Fully Loaded Convertible up thru Mull-Holland and stood 2 days in Topanga, drove up to Calabasas too, drove back down to Malibu and in to Marina Del Rey. Looked up nearby gas stations saw 76, and Arco closest to me.

Hello, I'm new to the forums and was wondering if anyone has settings recommendations for the 220i. I live in Mexico and have access to 92 octane gasoline.
Thanks in advance for your help. |

Best to ask where you bought it from, also most likely it will be B or C. RaceChip Mexico has a big/great support group on Facebook as well. Go see my buddy K320

So I'm about to pull the trigger on the Ultimate TB which says it makes 407hp and 563nm which is more than I remember it being advertised a few months ago. Sounds too good to be true, has anyone dyno'd these? Unfortunately in my country there are no dynos to be found.
