Those fold down rear seats are a big plus for me. I can fit 6 foot plus RC airplanes into my M235i. Wings off, of course.

As a kid, one of my first Matchbox cars was a 1970 Porsche 910 -- its second mid-engine design after the original 718. A little later, I got one that was an early '70s 911 Carrera ducktail. At the time (I was 7 or 8), I was into building model planes as well as playing with my cars. So I took some model paint and painted those two Porsches midnight blue and silver. The 911 was completely midnight blue. The 910, pictured below, was more two-tone:

By the time I moved to Germany when I was 11, I was a Porsche freak. The first two books I ever bought were about Porsche (still have those, too) ... and the first semi-exotic car I ever drove was a 911 Targa. At age 13. I basically stole it -- I 'borrowed' the keys from a friend of my dad's while they were on site somewhere -- and had the balls to drive it around the block in first gear. I was scared crapless and absolutely in heaven at the same time -- a really weird feeling I've only replicated truly a few other times in my life. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I got ya beat....sorta. I lived in Stuttgart as a youngster, as my Dad was in the army, stationed there, and drove a Porsche. I got in my first accident there.......when I was 4 years old! True story. I got in the car, put it in gear, and drove it down a hill and into a stone wall! Top that!!

I've been a Porsche fan ever since.

The only reason I have a 2 series is to haul 2 kids back and forth to school, etc. My oldest goes to college in August 2023 and then I'm buying a Cayman. Great choice, man!
