At how many miles did the CBS prompt you for your first iil change?

Title is kind of a mouthful... but at how many miles did your 2-series prompt you for the first oil change?

I assumed all non-M cars had the first oil service prompt at 10,000 miles, but my car has 56xx and just prompted me a few days ago. Car is not driven hard at all.

When did you take delivery? There is a annual time factor as well.
Do you do a lot of stop-and-go driving? That is actually the cause for faster deterioration which CBS senses than hard runs down the interstate.

I believe your car will ping you at 12 months or 10,000 miles, which ever occurs first. My MB GLK350 thinks the same way.

Regardless of what occurs first, mileage or calendar, I wouldn't stress out about it. Synthetic oils are wonderful.

I think mine came before 10k. I'm at 22K miles and the car is saying in another 3k I need an oil change.

That would be my third change.

What is the total odometer mileage on your car?

Not a 2 series, but on my old 4 series the first oil change came at just under 6k miles.

So, your car reached 12 months old?

Sounds like you're getting the 12 month oil change ping.

As more folks respond to this thread, it would be helpful if they provided the age of their car along with mileage since last oil change, plus total mileage of car.

My oil change indicator was on when I took delivery because it was 14 months old at the time, even though it had just under 200 miles. I decided to drive it another 1100 miles at which point I had the first oil changed completed. I changed it myself at home at 6K miles, and now at just under 11K miles the service indicators says I'm due in another 2K miles. My trips are never less than 10 miles (20 minutes) and at least 1/3 of my miles are interstate hwy, so with full warm-up each time I drive and lots of cruising miles, I'm pretty easy on my oil and my engine.

Nope. Car was manufactured in July 2014, delivered in October 2014, and CBS said oil change due in April of 2015.

My reminder came on at 10,000 miles, one year after I picked up the car (7/2016).

I think it's a 8 month velocity or so for me. I'm almost at 2 years but going on my 3rd oil change.

Mine (2017 M240i xDrive) prompted me at around 6,000kms. Picked it up new March 2017 and the first oil change was first week in Aug. Funny how it reads 10,000kms until next one. I'm used to seeing 24,000kms on my E90.

Mine initially showed 10,000 when I bought the car, but then gradually went down to where my first oil change was at about 4,700 miles (went in a few hundred miles early).

All subsequent oil changes the car has shown 5,000 miles off the bat. 18k on the odometer and coming up to my fourth oil change at about the 20k mark.

I thought it was odd, but I do mostly city driving and I like to keep it in sport, so that's probably why.
