Awesome! I want to do this too. Although I'll need to salvage an m-sport rear bumper. Have the base bumpers currently. Really fun car though coming from an E92 335i.

i am highly interested in doing the same. can't wait for your progress.
meanwhile, do you know if following occurs?

1. any negative effect? (ex. droning)
2. how hard will it be to reverse back to stock?
3. valve system working as normal

ok. so listen up it is installed took some piping and welding, and reversing to stock wont be as easy as putting on the new one.
when driving in comfort there is no droning, but the moment you touch sport or your paddle shifters the valve opens up and droning is occuring! the valve system works fine.

will make a video next week and keep you guys updated!

How much did it cost you to get it installed at an exhaust shop?

I converted an m2 exhaust for an m235 in the past by just cutting the quad pipes to dual to fit my m diffuser. I'm assuming for 228 you kept the dual pipes (single for left and right) since you bought a diffuser. Or did you keep it as just the left outlet?

I think it sounds really good. just like the 235 installed with MPE.
hard to believe that's a 4 cylinder.

how did you overcome the pipe diameter being different?

Sounds surprisingly meaty, nice work. I see you also debadged it - I doubt anyone would know it's a 228 unless they saw the fog lights!

Just, curious: do any of these changes to the exhaust system increase performance, and if so, how much and what what RPM levels? I am speaking here only of street-legal mods, nothing that is catless.

There are some vortex exhausts that claim gains - I'm no engineer but basically passing air over fancy shapes to create a vacuum.

Watch the wheeler dealer episode on the cobra they do a few minutes on it with a cutaway and someone explaining who actually understands this stuff.
