Yeah I kind of had the same feelings about my car. You need a "slow" daily driver so you can be satisfied with this car's power. (Otherwise that's how people end up wih 1000hp dailies)

If it makes you feel better, you would have had the same feeling in a m4 5 months in.

It's funny how no matter how powerful the car, you get used to it and want more. To the point where it's really not usable on the street. I'd reserve something really powerful for a track day car, where you can uncork it at will.

I am celebrating a year ownership in four days. And I love the car. I never get bored with it. I think doing mid 4s 0-60 is pretty quick. But as others have mentioned you can boost the speed of the car for not much money. Dinan get get you close to 500hp.

I didn't realize the b58 is still uncracked for flashes but surely it will eventually. Also, a jb4 must bring it pretty close to m4 territory. All I know is the new mustang GT felt slower to me stock, probably because it's enormous and an m4 to me at the time was double the money. I would try a jb4 in your case for sure. You have a lot untapped potential that's there for these kinds of days lol.

And it is.

Hard to beat the value of these little cars, but I am with the OP that it does not take me long to get bored of a car for whatever reason. Keep on buying and selling them because it keeps me happy. Maybe one day I'll get to drive a Ferrari and see what it is like at the top of the mountain.

Too many people on car forums act like you punched their spouse in the face if you say the slightest negative about whatever is in their garage.

Well put. I agree that after a while, it starts leaving a bit to be desired but I think that was the purpose of this m lite car. You want more, go full M but at the same time, for the money, it's probably one of the bang for buck cars that checks a lot of boxes. Someone else mentioned getting a second beater car to fully appreciate which is so true. I have a base Mazda 3 that I switch between and man, drive that for a day and it'l put things in perspective right quick.

OP, get a Z06, the M4 will disappoint you based on your experience with the m240.

If you "love the size of the 2er", but are dissatisfied with the 2ers performance, I don't understand why you would consider the larger M4 as an alternative when the vast bulk of car reviews proclaim the M2 to be the best //M vehicle in a generation?

I havent seen any stock turbo N55 put down 420+whp without meth. Sure 0-60 might compare but the S55 never stops pulling.... ever.

M3/4 is an entirely different animal. I drove my old M235 after getting into my M4 and was astonished with how much body roll there was. No knock against the F22, but the F8x with the solid rear is stiff as hell.

Get a Z06 though, or an SS 1LE. Both are freaking lunatics. Even get a C/ATS-V Caddy if you want more luxury than a Chevy has

I'll likely trade in for an M2 CS if it gets the S55 or better still the S58, unless the price is outrageous or the supply non existent.

I test drove the M2 and didn't even consider it an option with the N55.

If the M2 CS costs more than an M4 then I guess it's time to look for a lightly used C06 or ZL1

Some people will get bored no matter what car they get....

It's not having what you want.... but wanting what you have

My kid is a doctor. He tells me in the E.R., the call those "Donorcycles". However fast that goes, I'm not in that much of a hurry, especially to get to

Someone can always use a kidney or two....provided it's not too smooshed. Just was out driving today and this douche on a Ducati ran a red light next to me...blasted through the red a good two seconds before it turned green. I caught up to him at the next light and pointed out his douche-ness in no uncertain terms.

For a more exciting ride, pick something with more than 300bhp per ton and RWD: http://www.autosnout.com/Cars-Bhp-Per-Ton-List.php. For extra fun make sure it weighs less than a ton.

Since I'm moving from CA to Texas where the gas isn't watered down garbage then I'll try a downpipe and running map 2 on the car to see if it makes me love the car again.

How is a Top Tier brand of 93 octane gas in Texas different than elsewhere?

Because we only get CA 91 in California?

Interesting, thanks....not sure that's well-known outside of California. At first, I thought you were suggesting some kind of quality issue, not just limited availability of a different grade of fuel.
