F22 Headlight High Beams?
Can anyone confirm with the Xenon lighting package that the inner "high beam" light is still non-functional?
Seems with the continued use of bi-xenons for the actual high beam, the inner light position is still bogus and just a "place holder".

That's the question then, given there are no fog lights on the M, are the hi-beam positions active for cornering even? Have you seen them on, is the real question.
True, the E9x, E8x used the hi-beam position for cornering, but on my X3 and X5 the corner lights are done by the fog lights. So the hi-beam position is only for show, just a black dome (got to keep that 4-headlight signature look I'd rather know that all positions have a purpose. I wish the F22 would have just opened with the LED headlight option and that would kill this issue. But I guess that and full LED tail lights are for the LCI in 3-4 years. Maybe leaning towards the non-Xenons now. Can't stand things with no-function.

Xenon Adaptive Headlights with dynamic auto-leveling, Corona headlight-rings, and LED accent lights The "Cornering Lights" are not on the 3 series either, not until the 5, 6, and 7 series do they state this on their spec sheets: Xenon Adaptive Headlights with dynamic auto-leveling, LED Corona headlight-rings and Cornering Lights There's a difference between "cornering" and "accent" lighting. I know, maybe I'm a little OCD about this, but its irking me ever since my X3. Let me know where you see the verbiage as I would be happy to know it for sure. But I guess the only ABSOLUTE confirmation is someone with F22 Xenons, try it please and let us know!

Is this really an issue for you? It's a bit irrelevant don't you think? You will never see the lights function from inside the car so what's the difference? Do you also order options you don't want just so you don't have blank non functioning buttons?

I do have a functional reason: its faster to flash a dedicated light for a hi-beam flash, then to activate the bi-Xenon's (which require the xenon activation, then the light damper in the lens to move to hi-setting). Well I use my high beams for safety flashes during the day if someone may cause an accident. A dedicated hi-flash is faster then a horn for sure, and any bi-xenon. Given your E46 M3, if you have xenons, then I believe the hi-beam is still a halogen, given the model year. I had the same set-up on my E46 328, xenon low with halogen high. SO basically: speed of the flash execution. So again, I'm curious and would like to know. I maybe splitting hairs to some, like those concerned with saving 0.4s in 0-60 acceleration on the street; very negligible difference versus the money spent in spite of how many variables there are for ACTUAL results. Again, to each their own. But BMW is moving to LEDs, and as you see, both low/high positions are used and the hi-beam flash is FAST! Again, for me, its form follows function. Now you mention "blank buttons"; I don't have an issue with blanks and order what I need (NEVER buy off the lot). But I ABSOLUTELY know people that can't stand blanks and YES they actually buy every option to fill those blanks. Again, to each their own and it isn't for me to judge their preferences/hang-ups.
