Trading 2011 328i Coupe for 228i Coupe & wondering If I did the right thing

I love my black 2011 328I Coupe, (Oyster Interior) it has 40K miles on it and I traded it in for a similar 228I coupe which arrived at the dealership today. I will be picking up the new car Tuesday but am I slumming it by giving up a 3 series for a two series? Previously I traded in a 128i for the 328i and thought I was really going places (no pun) No matter what and unrelated, I think the 4 series is ugly and the 228i is an exciting car but I really liked the 3 series coupe.

The funny thing is that I have been a member since 2010 as referenced in my membership information. I will change my name to Mark228i (I forgot to change it in 2012 when I bought the 328i)

No, you're trading for a lighter, faster, more fun factor coupe. This week I'm picking up my new 228 coupe, manual trans and trading in my 2012 128 steptronic. No regrets at all

I'm doing the same! Going from a 335 to the 235. I feel the same way you do, I LOVE my 335. I won't take delivery for a month or so, I'm sure we'll all love our 2's once we've got them!!

I love the 2 series, it is so advanced and it was worth the wait plus I was able to get the Modern Line version with the 18 inch wheels.

Please post your impressions of the M235i after you take delivery. I own an E92 335i and I'm not sure I want to let her go... Love her but the M235i is soooo exciting... Cheers

Prefer my 228i over my 328i

Buying the 2 series was the best thing ever because:
  • More technology advanced: New iDrive, driving modes, automatic shifter improvements, more advanced center stack, 18 inch wheels (I have the US version of the Modern Line), comfort and ergonomics, gas mileage
  • More fun to drive, better steering, better steering wheel, great use of space, similar looks to the 3 series but distinctive, more choices, more of a connection to the heritage 3 series, great looks at every angle
