What's your next car?
As the tittle says, what's your next car going to be after your 2er?
I'm probably going to lease a m2 or a m3 after my lease is done and keep the s2000 as a weekend car.

Waiting to see how the G20 3 Series turns out in two years.
Meanwhile, about number 250,000 in line with a refundable deposit for a Model 3 Tesla...just for the fun of it...~2020??

I hope I can keep my 235 for a very long time because I absolutely love it but I might pickup a model 3 if they ever catch up to the insane amount of pre orders and keep both. I love electric cars.

ND MX5 for my next DD once the NB is worn out.
Dream car is the Cayman GT4. And quite possibly e46 M3. I don't think there will be any new BMW from here on out that's of any interest, with the direction they're going in.

I've got time to think (about a year) before my lease is up on my 228, but I'm getting itchy. 2017 has a lot of new models coming out. I'm still considering an M235, which would make the most sense financially because I could pull ahead and when I got my 228 in 2014, the M235 was what I was originally going to get anyway. However, a couple models worth mentioning that I may consider. The MB C-class coupe is a good looking car, but I'm not sure I can justify the high price for less speed. The Audi A5 is supposed to be improved for 2017 as far as speed goes, but not enough info yet. The 2017 Infiniti Q60 looks great, but there has been so little info about that car trickling out that I have some concerns, that there are possibly problems or delays in production forcing it to come out as a 2018 model. So, it's too early to tell and I still want to see more shots of it anyway. Now, with all that said, I must say I became intoxicated when I test drove the new Camaro SS with the dual mode exhaust. The interior is not near as cheap looking or cheap feel like previous gens. It's actually quite nice and I miss having a HUD, which BMW stubbornly refuses to offer for the 2-series. While I don't think the Camaro is the best looking coupe out there (in our price range, looks is probably a tie between those few photos I've seen of the Q60 and the Lexus RC F-sport), the Camaro offers the best bang for the buck. I wouldn't even consider a 2015 or earlier version, but the new one is lighter, faster, and smaller. All pluses. I've got time, but that V-8 burbling sound MIGHT be pulling me back to an American car. We'll see.

I'll second the Camaro love - I already bought a 2016 Camaro 2SS and just waiting for it to arrive. I paid almost exactly the same price as I did for the M235i, and for that you get M4 level performance, LSD, HUD, upgraded sound system, 20" rims, dual mode exhaust. It's a hell of a lot of car for the price, and the car's handling/driveability has been getting rave reviews from the auto press.

M2 for me, I think, as it's quite obviously the best M car for years and the driving ergonomics really suit me; in the F22 I feel I'm wearing the car as opposed to merely sitting in it. My biggest dilemma is manual vs. DCT; I am 56, will be 60 by the time I get an M2 and as exceptional as the DCT is, this might be the last time I will be physically inclined to row a gear stick. Would anyone care to comment on that?
The new Shelby Mustang 350R is obviously an exceptional car, too, but it's selling for way over sticker and would probably get me into all sorts of trouble.

Don't get me wrong - I've been a hot-rodder since the 1960s and have always enjoyed manual trans cars, but I'm pretty sure my replacement for my current 335i is likely to be another 3-series (340i) with the 8AT. Won't happen for awhile, though - my car only has just over 20K miles at this point.

TTS right now but it changes daily. There are a few other similar threads with good suggestions too.

If they offered a TTS convertible in the latest version, I'd own one now

So my present preferences are the TT roadster or the 235 convertible, and the 235 seems to be the better buy. Have to agree with others that the new Camaro is also a great bang for the buck. |

That said I'd more seriously consider the 235 again if I didn't just need to change for the sake of changing as I'm bored. Maybe the convertible but I've got a hard time spending M2 money on a 235 - but that's just me. Also have a 2006 330ci that I can drive when the top down itch needs scratched.

I would consider the Alfa 4C if it were not about $25,000 too expensive at $75K. How can they possibly expect to sell this car at that price in the US??

This will be in late 2018, so it may change ...
Right now I'm aiming to either lease a new Cayman or search for a CPO one. Since age 11 my ultimate vehicular goal has been to have a Porsche. Aiming to make that happen ... ... but barring that: rumors of a new Mazda RX in development are starting to swirl. Mazda recently has a U.S. patent approved for a new rotary engine design that aids cooling. If Mazda's current design philosophies are applied to a new RX ... ohhhh yesssss. My next car will almost certainly not be a BMW.

Gawd does it sound good, though. No muffler, stock. And the engine six inches from your right ear ...

I've driven a Viper. Good lord, no. I'd own a C7 before one of those, or a big 'n' black CTS-V.

I'm somewhat intrigued by the idea of an all-electric car, and I could envision possibly buying one as my next car. I'm interested in seeing where BMW's i line goes. I'd like to see them produce a 200-mile-range all-electric in a package that's more attractive than the i3 and less expensive than the i8.
Being a moonroof-delete kinda guy, I can't really warm up to the Tesla Model 3 with its all-glass roof. |
