HUD add-on for the M235i ?

HUD is not available from BMW as an option on the M235i.

Has anyone tried either installing a HUD from other Bavarian series or other brands in the M235i ? If so, how ?

Danke

I did read another thread in this forum about the same topic that had no answers: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=935091

We have it on our X5, and I don't see how it would be feasible. On our car there is a projector recessed in the top of the dash, and a special windshield is required with a projection area...and that's before you even deal with how to get the data you want to display to the projector.

There will soon be an add-on you can buy.

I haven't read the whole page yet. Do you know how this thing fetches data ? And can you customize what data is displayed ? Does it integrate with Nav ?

Thanks, I see your point. As an engineer, I intuitively know that coming up with such an add-on might be a challenge.

However, something is better than nothing, so I'm holding onto hopes for an aftermarket (or even a BMW accessory) that might mitigate this shortcoming somewhat.

I'm not surprised that it's not a factory option on the 2 given that the "take" rate on the X5 (significantly more $ versus 2 series) is low. But the add-on model looks very interesting.

HUD is also a part of Tech Package for 3 series. Which cost about the same as 2 series.

Isn't the base price of a 328 more than 15% higher than a 228?

Similar to the HUD, you can get Active Cruise and Blind Spot Detection on the 3 but not the 2. Wish all three options were available.

I don't think you can do it. Otherwise you can add whatever you like on the M235i. Also, are you seriously willing to cut your upper part of your dashboard?
