How long to get a production week number?
Do I get this from the dealer or is it available from the website or the 800 number?
I order my car 3 weeks ago. Four days later I got a production number. Both the website and the 800 number say that the car is "scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet". Is this normal? I read the long thread about tracking production and I would think I would get notified of the production week? Does this mean my dealer had no allocations? How long did everyone else wait from ordering time till anything shows up on the website/800 number.

Your description mirrors my wait for when production starts
I went from viewing on the BMW web-site: waiting to be built to waiting to go to port in one day - so you really need to use the 1-800 number |

Be prepared to wait a while for a definite week number allocation.
I ordered mine in the first weekend of December and got a production number 1 business day later. Status did not change for weeks. I called the 800 number posted above and a live rep informed me it will not start until the last week of this month. Status still has not changed on my account page either. I've learned to stop checking frantically every day.

Xiaoxi, your situation sounds just like mine. I ordered mine on 12/6. Got the production number the next day and was told it would go into production the 4th week of the year. I called the 800 number yesterday and the rep said my car would enter an finish production between the 19th-28th.

Yup, same here. Ordered at the end of November and got a production number a week and a half later. Waited another couple of weeks before I called the 1-800 number and found out my vehicle isn't scheduled to be built until 4th week of 2015 aka end of January.

I ordered on Dec 7 and still have no production number. My CA called me on Dec 23 - I thought she was calling to give me a production number, but instead she was just calling to wish me a Merry Christmas. :-). She says I should have a number by the end of Jan and we're still expecting delivery around Apr 1. Maybe this means the dealership doesn't have another allocation 'till Feb?

I guess I am luckier than I thought. Just two days after I posted this, the status on the website was changed to "in production". I called up the 800 number and they said production started on Jan 9 and was scheduled to finish on Jan 16!
I ordered on Dec 18.

Me too ! It's probably the worst part of the process, because nothing is going on and we're just in the dark not knowing what's going to happen or when.
