As others have chimed in, it takes a little while to break in and adjust to your driving style.. Your results may vary, but mine did nothing but get stronger and tighter in handling as time passed.
As for me, I knew it was right when I sent the email to the dealer to order it, and it was confirmed on the 3 hour drive home... I had to stop twice to get out, stand in the pouring rain like a complete moron and stare at it. And I still occasionally do that. |

So I guess you could say my AH moment was online. My -Ha moment was the test drive.

I loved it for the first 6 months then started to think I just wanted more. Honestly, I already want to sell it. It's a great car and quick but I will be looking into selling it probably within a year..

Not loving it. Maybe I'm too old for a sports car. It's fun to drive, but not comfortable to ride in. The ride is too harsh. Maybe replacing the run flats will help. My wife says "it's not convertible weather, why are we taking that car?" The fact that she hurt her back doesn't help.

From what people have said, I really hope that the acceleration "problem" will go away after the break in period. That is my only gripe. I love the look, the Colour combo, the compact size and the minimal tech. I will probably get rid of the run flats as soon as one needs replacing. I'd just thought I would have a stronger feeling for my very first new car. |

Pretty much from the test drive. I think you will love it more once you have broken it in.
You might want to consider getting rid of the run flats, as this will improve the ride and reduce road noise. |

I loved the test drive and that car had 90km so I wasn't sure why mine at 300km isn't driving the same. I kind of like the road noise as I feel closer to the ground but I will get rid of run flats to lighten the load. |

Can't think of anything else that would affect the noise under acceleration re your initial post or would be making the drive less enjoyable.
How's your tyre pressure? On delivery, the dealership had each tyre of my car at different pressures and one almost flat... What mode are you driving in? During break in I just used Comfort mode until 1,200 miles and it's generally pretty quiet. |

I have been driving in comfort mode with sports of sport when it is not stop and go traffic only after I spoke to the delivery specialist. For about two days prior, I was playing around with sport and Eco mode and the gears for hills. I was told to leave those alone. It is quiet for the most part and only seems to struggle when accelerating from stop... it goes up to 3000rpm-3500rpm sometimes but now I ease it slowly. On an uphill, I understand it takes more...for the test drive, I took it up the hill around my house and would have recalled the "struggle noise". I couldn't have "damaged" it playing around in the first couple of days...and I do have a lead foot which I have been careful about after my call with the delivery specialist. |

Ah! I know exactly what you mean now. I also had that for the first few weeks/months.
There seemed to be a lot of hesitation when accelerating from a standstill and much worse in Comfort mode. This has fixed itself over time. I think the ECU adapts to your driving style (e.g. how hard you accelerate). |

In Turkey we have a saying, it goes 'Sabır Erdemdir" which translates to patience is a virtue. Treat her right during its break in period, follow the owners manuals directions for it. After about 2500km get a full oil change (Some people suggest you get one at 500km as well but I didn't) as there might be small metal pieces in the oil from break in and these might scrap the interior of the combustion chambers and make the car lose power on the long run, after this follow your regular maintenance schedule and make sure if you change your oil that they don't change your service schedule on the vehicle as this will cause all your maintenance schedule shift. Try to use the car on more open roads during the break in period rather than bumper to bumper traffic. Make sure you drive the car below 4000rpm or 160km/h until the break in is over. You can get an alignment at 5000km if you'd like. You'll in time appreciate the car and what it's capable of... I had my A moment when they gave me the test car for a week and HA moment was when I started to use my car

I don't recall that acceleration got noticeably better after break-in. Sounds like you probably should have opted for the 235i/240i version from the git-go....

Fell in love with mine the second I saw it on the lot the wife did too as blue is her favorite color. Ended up test driving a RWD 435i that had been on the lot for a while....it was fun especially compared to the Civic it was replacing.
Everyday I am glad I made the decision I did. Bill |

Break-in period definitely puts a damper on the enjoyment. Get that over with, and then drive it in at least sport. Dump the RFTs, as others have suggested,
