Clutch stop

Anyone try a clutch stop on their 6MT? Does it make a difference?

What is the definition of a "clutch stop?"

I have the $10 Burger stop and think it makes all the difference in the world. There was way too much travel before the clutch engagement point for me.

I installed the Burger stop with all 3 washers at first, and it was too drastic. There was maybe 1/4" of travel between all the way to the floor and engagement. I pulled out the stop, removed one washer, put it back in, and that was perfect. Now there is about an inch of travel before it engages. To me, that's the way it should have been from the factory!

Best. $10. mod. ever.

You can make one for pennies. 3m tape and whatever you choose as a spacer. I found that a plastic piece you put on a chair leg so that it slides on the floor worked well. Heck, it could be a Lego. Just make sure it's under 1/4" or less of thickness.

I also tried it, I was ordering a few things from BMS and figured "eh why not it's just $10". I've had it about a month now and I can say it was definitely worth the $10 for me

installed the clutch stop today. no need to pull any panels, can just feel your way around remove the OEM and plug this one through. definitely faster shifts as it engages earlier, but feels spongy when depressed, assuming this is due to the material. is that how everyone else's feels?

Here's my clutch stop. It's a flat Lego 2x2 brick with 3M tape. If I want it thicker, I simply add more bricks.. No squishy feel either.

It sounds like you are pressing the pedal to the floor and then some. Maybe you didn't adjust it to have some free play?

I took out one of the washers in mine because there was practically no free play at all. By only using 2 washers, now I have about an inch of play between the floor and when the pedal engages.

true, i've always pushed the clutch to the floor (parents were extremely adamant about that way back, stuck with me). but even with all 3 washers i have about an inch of free play as well. noticed my 1st to 2nd shift engages significantly faster.
