You just substantially changed my opinion on the seats. Wow! Can't believe we did not discover this before now! I have particularly long thighs, so being able to tilt the front of the seat up makes the thigh bolsters much more effective for me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :-)
Just looked at the on line owner's manual, and don't feel as stupid as I did a few minutes ago :-) The owner's manual does not clearly show that you have to twist the control to tilt the seat. If you merely pull up on the same adjustment lever, the entire seat rises rather than tilts.

Tritto

I did an extended 3-day test drive in an M235i (long story) and never noticed the offset that folks are talking about. Sounds like it might be an issue if you're shorter than average. Most cars aren't set up perfectly square in this regard, with steering columns angled in plan view, etc.

Got in my car yesterday and tried the twist of the seat control. Amazing. I was able to tilt the front of the seat up finally to have comfort. Can't thank you enough for your advice.

The owner's manual should be more clear :-)

After a week of ownership, I feel that I've finally got my "base" seat positioning down and stored in memory. I'm so particular about seat position that I feel a noticeable difference between types of clothing I'm wearing, shoes, how much I've eaten, # of cups of coffee I've ingested, type of underwear I have on (or lack thereof)...

Seriously though, @ 5'6" it's taken me a while to get it to where I'm comfortable; I was also experiencing the seatbelt digging into the side of my neck. The one downside is that my adjustments have made ingress & egress just a tiny bit more challenging, heh.

I'm 5'6" too. I should just send you my profile with my seating position. You would have been all set!

Check out this video (
) and then tweak it to suit you. Worked for me.

My God, the fact that it's possible to do that will continue to boggle my mind for a while, HA!

Vid won't play at work, but from what image/title I'm able to see, I smell what you're cookin! For the past several years, I've based my seating position on all the stuff various instructors have told me in HPDEs & Supercar "test lap" events.

I've made a few tweaks over the past couple of days...I think I need to "re-zero" my seat, LOL!

Funny how this post just happened to pop up when I was thinking about it today. I've never noticed the seat position issue until two weeks ago I took a nasty hit during a football game to my right side, all along my lat and oblique, had the wind knocked out of me. Ever since then, I can feel the slight diagonal of the seat due to pressure/pain since I can't adjust to offset the pressure to center myself.
