I just bought a M240i help.

Just purchased a manual 2017 m240i with 13k miles. What exhaust setup is everyone running ? On my 135i I ran Berk Race, N55 mid pipes and VRSF down pipes .

Congrats!

In my opinion, the REMUS exhaust is the best option for a daily driver. It offers a perfect balance for an aggressive tone without getting obnoxiously loud.

Also no drone

I have the MPE on my '17 M240i. It's marginally louder than stock but the pops and bangs in sport sound much louder and deeper.

Do the catted after market down pipes keep the car from throwing a CEL? It's going to be a weekend Car , loud is ok but I don't want raspy shit sound.

If your car is flash tuned, you will not get a CEL

if your car is stock, only Active Autowerke and Fabspeed offer a no CEL guarantee

I pick it up Friday 🤓 no tune yet. I had jb4 in my 135i, I've been outa the bmw scene for a few years. Does JB4 hide the Cel?

No CEL as long as you are not replacing the downpipe

For sound, I just did the Dinan midpipe and Dinana CF Cold Air Intake on the stock exhaust. Tastefully louder, with more pronounced pops and burbles in sport/sport+, but comfort mode is early morning neighborhood friendly. I constantly get compliments on the sound and it only cost $1000.

I had the MPE which isn't a race exhaust. I always liked the drone free subtle upgrade the MPE's offered. I've tried "race" exhausts on previous M cars and the drone eventually became a buzz kill...sounded cool for up until then though.

Mike, besides better sound, what would adding a Dinan midpipe to my high flow Dinan exhaust provide me. HP difference? And if so, much at all. I run a Dinan V2 stage 1, Dinan Free Flow Exhaust and dropped in a BMC air filter.

You might get 5-10 HP more at certain RPM range, nothing major.
the midpipe mod is mostly for sound

Gratz on the purchase! I'm currently running bm3 AGG 12 with catless dp, stock m2 res, with a modded backbox / muffler and I'm completely satisfied with how it sounds. The M2 parts gave it MORE bassyness than you would get from the MPE and the pops sound perfect with the mod I had done. The only thing that I still want is a more functional valve system, as the current setup barely makes a sound difference between closing the left side or not.
