Performance part ordering question?
My M235i is due into port on the 25th of this month. Does anyone know if I can order some parts to be installed at the port? I want to order the alcantara steering wheel and interior trim.

My dealer was able to order the performance parts for me on Friday of last week. He had to email someone from BMW corporate, but it's now listed on my build sheet

I like being on this forum, a bunch of people with a ton of knowledge. I would have never even thought to track my car while it's on the boat without the posts on here.

Question answered, was able to order all the interior trim parts as well as the steering wheel. Now I'm wondering how much longer it will be since they have to install all of those parts.

Arggg....
When I ordered my car, my CA wasn't able to add to the build sheet most M-Perf accessories I wanted. He said it was because they were port-installed options and that we needed to order them separately/later. Now, my car is due to arrive at the VPC on 7/30 and I was trying to order the MPE, CF Rear spoiler, CF Shift knob and CF hand brake and he just emailed me saying that "it looks like port is not allowing us to install most of your desired options as of right now. Sadly we have no control over this." WTF? I'm pretty pissed off now. He's trying to see what he can do but if anyone has any insights I'd appreciate recommendations! |

I'm leasing so for me it's a big deal to have them installed at port since I'd pay only 37% vs. 100% of the price. |

Here is the pricing I have been quoted for MP parts, all Port installed. Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps $765 Carbon Fiber Trim with Alcantara $1105 Limited-Slip rear Differential $3240 Really want the spoiler to set it off, but may have to get the dealer to add that. Will replace the kidneys with the black MP ones as well, but I can do that little stuff :P Any thoughts on pricing? Do those sound fair/common? |

The mirror caps and trim are so easy to install. Do not order through PIA. You can source directly from BMW (getbmwparts.com) or any one of a number of other dealers on Ebay for soooo much less. Genuine BMW CF Mirror caps i have seen as low as $440. Interior trim as low as $760. I personally have paint matched mirror caps, M Performance shifter and e-brake handle - those 3 items took me 10 minutes to install. I also have the MP Electric Steering wheel which took a bit longer but only because that 16mm bolt was so damn hard to break loose.
